II · THE JOURNEY

From Z80
to 6502.

The Commodore conversion, created by Germán Luis Aracil Boned, translates the original program into 6502 assembly. The project began in September 2016 with a C program for the opening parchment.

Work continued with the study of the original CPC tape and the reconstruction of its routines in C. After measuring that the generated code would not fit in the available C64 memory, the game was written in ca65 assembly. Graphics, sound, loading and controls were adapted to the machine.

The versions are checked frame by frame against the original CPC game or the PC reconstruction. The C128 restores the complete map and combines multicolour graphics with high-resolution heads.

In memory of Paco Menéndez and in tribute to Juan Delcán and the entire Ópera Soft team, for a work that lives on in our memories.

The code of this conversion is distributed under GNU GPL v3 or later. The original graphics, texts, music and data belong to their authors.
